Disability benefits - British Sign Language and subtitled films

The short films, one for each of three benefits and one about making a claim, are presented in British Sign Language and are subtitled. You can download them directly or request a DVD to be sent to you.

Viewing the films

The films are available in two formats:

  • Windows Media video - the WMV files
  • Real Player video - the RAM files

Because the films contain subtitles, Directgov cannot provide a video size that is suitable for dial-up modem users, but you can order a DVD.

Click on the file you wish to view and you can either play it now or save it onto your computer to view later. If you want to download the file, you should click on the link using the right mouse button. You should then see a list of options including 'Save Target As...' or 'Save Link As...'. If you select this option you should be able to save the video to your computer.

How to make a claim

Ordering a DVD version

The DVD contains all four films and is free of charge. Please make sure that you give full details of your postal address. The DVD should arrive within five working days.
